THE TRAINING COURSE

BECOME A CHORAL ARTIST
The profession of a choral artist differs significantly from that of a soloist and is certainly more demanding in several respects.

Suffice it to say that a choral artist must sing a diverse repertoire, ranging from Baroque to Verismo, from Mozart to Verdi and Luigi Nono, unlike a soloist who, once they have identified their repertoire, focuses exclusively on it.

Another challenge is having to sing for years in a more or less large group, unable to hear one's own voice clearly, with the risk of overexerting oneself to overpower one's colleagues.
In essence, the profession of a choral artist can be exhausting, unless one possesses solid vocal technique.

To become a choral artist, training that encompasses both individual and group singing is necessary.
Currently, there is a strong influx of young talents from around the world, heading to Italy to perfect their operatic singing. The goal of the OltreVoce Project is to prepare future choral artists for competitions in the world's most famous choral companies.
Competitions for choirs run by foundations and opera houses have become increasingly demanding.
In addition to romances, excellent sight-reading and the ability to perform even the most complex choral pieces by a wide variety of composers are required.
Vacant positions in choirs around the world are numerous precisely because it's difficult to find trained voices during competitions. Candidates often arrive prepared for a solo career, but not for a choral one.

Our strength is our teachers, all professionals with years of experience in the world's most important theaters.
Lessons with our teachers are immensely valuable, as they are based on years of direct experience with the greatest choir directors, conductors, and stage directors.
The choir is a unique organism, despite being composed of many people. Being able to perform on stage is also an integral and fundamental part of this wonderful profession.
