He began studying piano at the age of five under the guidance of Franca Balzaretti, continuing at the age of ten with Carlo Vidusso.

In 1974, he joined the Children's Choir of the Teatro alla Scala, also distinguishing himself as a soloist.

In 1984, he graduated in piano from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan under the direction of Ernesto Esposito. In 1980, four years before graduating, he received a scholarship as a Repetiteur at the Teatro alla Scala, a position he officially held from October 1984 to September 2017.

From 1986 to 2005, he served as Repetiteur at the Teatro alla Scala, collaborating with Music Director Riccardo Muti, primarily as a vocal coach.

In 1997, he served as fortepiano maestro under the direction of Riccardo Chailly in the production of Gioachino Rossini's opera "The Turk in Italy," recorded for the DECCA label.

From 1995 to 2005, he collaborated with the Filarmonica della Scala, both in Italy and on international tours.

Since October 2017, he has been a consultant for the preparation of singing companies, with a focus on the Italian opera repertoire, at various international theaters.
